Terms of Use

These terms apply to everyone who uses Torah Story Engine (the “site”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the site does

Torah Story Engine helps you find Torah stories for speeches, classes and the Shabbos table. Search results, matches and explanations are produced with the help of AI and may be incomplete or wrong. Please check sources yourself before relying on a story, especially for halachic questions. Nothing on the site is halachic or professional advice.

Your account

• You sign in with Google or an emailed link. Keep access to your email account secure.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Paid plans

• Some features need a paid plan. Prices are shown on the Plans page.
• Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Plan & billing; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details.
• We may change prices with notice; changes apply from your next renewal.

Stories and comments you add

When you upload a story or post a comment, you confirm that:

• you have the right to share it: you wrote it, it's traditional or in the public domain, or you have permission from the person who owns it;
• the source you give is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• it isn't offensive, hateful, sexual, defamatory, spam, or someone else's private information.

You keep any rights you have in what you add. You give us permission to store it, show it to you, and, if you choose “Share publicly” and an admin approves it, to show it to everyone who uses the site. You can make a story private again or delete it at any time; comments you delete are removed from view.

Uploaded stories and shared requests are checked automatically (including by AI) and by an admin. We may decline, hide or remove any content.

Acceptable use

• Don't try to break, overload or scrape the site, or get around its limits or paid features.
• Don't use the site to harass anyone or to post anything unlawful.

Copyright

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, please follow the steps on our Contact & copyright page and we'll review it promptly.

No warranty; limits

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for important changes we'll let signed-in users know.
